Ultimate Lasagna

Ultimate Lasagna Empty Ultimate Lasagna

Ingredients
1 pack no boiling required lasagna
2lb part skim ricotta cheese
1 onion
3 cloves garlic
2 jars tomato sauce (any flavor, plain, tomato flavor, meat flavor)
4 Tablespoons olive oil
2 Tablespoons oregano
2 Tablespoons rosemary and Thyme
2 Carrot sticks
1 celery stick
2 Lb Mozzarella Cheese
1 Cup Pecorino Romano Cheese
1 Cup Parmesan Cheese
1 lb Ground lean Beef (omit beef if vegetarian)

Directions
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F
2. Combine herbs with carrots, celery, garlic and onion in a blender with 1 Tablespoon olive oil, blend until finely chopped or just finely chop all ingredients.
3. In a pan heat meat over medium heat and combine above herb mixture. Cook until meat is browned and there is no more pink (approx. 10 minutes) Drain excess fat from pan.
4. In a 9x13 inch glass dish spread 1 cup tomato sauce along the bottom, then layer 4 pieces of pasta slightly overlapping.
5. On top of the pasta spread 1/3 of ricotta, 1/3 of browned meat 1/3 of mozzarella and 1 cup of sauce. Top with Parmesan, Romano cheeses and a drizzle of olive oil.
6. Repeat above step for the next two layers layering the remaining meat before the last layer of pasta.
7. Layer the last layer with remaining sauce, and cheeses.
8. Bake covered with foil for 45-60 minutes. Remove foil for last 10 minutes of baking and you may want to put a cookie sheet under the lasagna dish to catch any overflowing sauce.
9. Let stand 10-15 minutes before serving.
